Dianella caerulea 'DC101' Dimensions: 300 - 400mm tall x 500 - 600mm wide. Lucia has deep green, arching to weeping foliage with non invasive spreading rhizomes, which give it the ability to fill in gaps and repair itself from damage. Flowers: Spring & Summer. Deep mulberry coloured flower buds opening to a star shape with a bluish-purple tinge, held high above the foliage, followed by purple berries. Aspect: Grows in full sun to 90% shade. Protected coastal aspects. Grows well in inland climates and will handle cold to -7c and light frost. Soil Types: Sandy loam, clay loam, free draining clay soils. Doesn't like water logged soils. Mulch Type: No problems with any well composted, processed mulch type. Maintenance Level 2: Trim back foliage in spring to 100mm above the ground every 2 to 3 years. Fertilize with slow release fertilizer after trimming.
