Lomandra filiformis 'Savanna Blue' is a striking plant with rigid course, blue/grey foliage, great in small compact gardens and courtyards. A tough hardy plant which will make a great border or edging plant.

Aspect

Savanna Blue grows better in full sun, but can be planted in up to 30% shade. It handles coastal humidity provided it has free draining soils and planted for good air circulation. Grows exceptionally well in inland climates handling heat and cold to –10ºC with ease.

Soil Type

Sandy loam and free draining clay loams.

Maintenance

Trim back foliage to 100mm above the ground every 3 to 5 years, if needed. Fertilize with controlled release fertilizer after trimming to encourage fresh re-growth.

Mulch Type

Use coarse grade hardwood chips and gravel mulches. Don’t mulch hard up against the base of the foliage.
