Themeda australis - 'Kangaroo Grass' or as it was formly known Themeda triandra, is a medium size tufted warm season grass with green foliage turning reddish browns to purple in winter. It is a widely occuring grass and it's form changes according to aspect and region. On coastal heathland it is reduced to a protrate groundcover, in sheltered coastal aspects in form tall leafy tussocks and inland it often has shorter growing foliage forming a medium sized clump. Care should be taken when buying Themeda for project to ensure you get the right form.
