Landscape Sedges

Sedges For Ornamental Landscaping.

Sedges are plants suited to growing in wet, boggy areas and are  adaptable to growing in dry situations as well.  In their natural environment, many sedges grow in ephemeral swamps and drainage lines where they can be inundated with water in wet seasons and are dry during dry times.

They naturally have a high drought tolerance perfect for xeriscape styled gardens and constructed dry creek beds and wetlands.

The following Landscape Sedges are varieties that have proven to be versatile landscape plants. These have ornamental foliage and flowers and will provide interest in landscapes as features. Landscape Sedges blend perfectly with Native Grasses to provide colour and foliage variations and contrasts. They can also be used in Constructed Wetlands and Rain Gardens and they perform well as bio-filter plants while adding ornamentally to the design.
