This Lomandra is by far one of the most stunning plants we have seen in years. It is however, a slow plant to propagate, therefore we recommend consultation with us and advance ordering for large projects to ensure supply.

Wingarra has masses of small yellow, vanilla scented flowers that spread a sweet perfume early morning and late afternoon.

 

Lomandra confertifolia 'SIR5'

Dimensions: 300 - 400mm tall x 400 - 500mm. Wingarra has arching, fine blue, grass like foliage that resembles the popular blue Poa grass. Wingarra is a tough hardy plant which will make a great border or edging plant for native and informal gardens.

Flowers: Spring & Summer with masses of small yellow, beautifully perfumed flowers that spread a sweet scent early morning and late afternoon.

Aspect: Wingarra will grow in complete full sun and up to 70% shade. It is suited to seaside planting and coastal humidity. It grows well inland where it can handle heat & cold to -10c and medium level frost.

Soil Types: Sandy loam and free draining clay loams and light clay.

Mulch Type: Wingarra is suited to coarse grade hard wood chips and gravel mulches. Don't mulch hard up against the base of the foliage.

Maintenance: Trim back foliage to 200mm above the ground every 3 to 5 years, if needed, to remove old foliage. Use slow release fertilizer after trimming to encourage fresh re-growth. Take care when re-mulching and don't over water.

Border: 300 to 350mm centres

Mass planting: 5 to 7 plants per m2

Specimen planting: 3 plants per Lm or 3 to 5 plants per m2
