Poa labillardieri ‘Eskdale’

Description
Poa labillardieri ‘Eskdale’ is an old favourite used extensively on many projects. It has beautiful fine greenish/blue foliage with an upright to arching form. Poa is ideal for softening hard surfaces and for colour contrasting with other plants. The species labillardieri is at times spelt labillardiere.

Upright to slight arching bluish-green foliage.

Late Spring to Summer with tall pannicle of seed head.
Aspect
Poa 'Eskdale' grows in full sun and in up to 50% shade. Eskdale is suited to mild coastal conditions. Inland it will handle dry and cold to –10ºC with heavy frost.
Soil Type
Loam soils, clay loam and free draining clay.
Maintenance
Trim back foliage in April every year to approx 200 to 300mm above the ground to remove last season’s foliage. Fertilize with slow release fertilizer after trimming and water to encourage quick re-growth.
