Lomandra longifolia 'Nyalla' is a tough plant that works well when mass planted and also makes a great specimen plant. For many years Nyalla has been unavailable due to production issues in tissue culture. Two years ago Bluedale made the decision to go back to basics and start a division programme using original parent plant material. The result being that we now have stock available again.
H: 700mm to 900mm W: 500mm to 700mm
Spring & Summer with small non spiky cream to yellow flowers that are held within the foliage. No viable seed.
Nyalla grows in full sun and 50% shade. Nyalla is also suited to coastal aspects with the best results achieved when it is protected from the full force of sea winds. Care should be given not to over water in heavier soils. It grows well in inland climates where it will remain evergreen in frost to temperatures to –10ºC.
Sandy loam, clay loam and free draining light clay.
Nyalla is a very low maintenance plant needing little care. Trim back foliage every 3 to 5 years if needed. Fertilize annually with controlled release fertilizer.
Throughout 2011—2012 Nyalla will only be available in 140mm pots.
